Just because . . .
"Loveliest of lovely things are they
On earth that soonest pass away.
The rose that lives its little hour
Is prized beyond the sculptured flower. "
William Cullen Bryant
This was a happy accident. I snapped the photo in passing thinking that the light was not right, but it turned out to be pretty with light shinning through the leaves. Even if it's not perfectly composed, the color of that tiny rose is glorious.

SNOW
It was 103 degrees here in Las Vegas yesterday. I'm a Michigan girl and I just don't do well in the heat. When it's sweltering outside I like to read a book that is set in winter and forget that it is an intolerable 130 degrees inside my car.

My son's Caleb's current favorite silly poem:
SNOWBALL
I made myself a snowball
As perfect as could be.
I thought I'd keep it as a pet
And let it sleep with me.
I made it some pajamas
And a pillow for its head.
Then last night it ran away.
But first--it wet the bed.
