TODAY'S SPECIAL

Elemental--like fire and ice--warm copper and icy clear crackled glass. This is a brand new item and I've marked it as TODAY'S SPECIAL for only $25 for the set.

NEW item!

I'm trying to move into a more personal direction with my designs and I hope that I find my customers like what I like. One of my favorite combinations is to mix copper with natural pink freshwater pearls. I don't know what it is exactly that I like about it, but it's incredibly beautiful.

This piece was inspired by the emerging plum blossoms in my front yard this week.

New Service: clip-on ear wires

Per special requests, I have just received a shipment of clip on ear wires for those without pierced ears. I have the leverback style and also some cute little spring style hoops (that looked like pierced) in both silver and gold plated. I have some copper plated screw closure style on order.

I won't be listing any clip on earrings on my website or my Etsy store, but you can always request them and I'd be happy to change them out for you at no extra charge if the style of earring will work with them. Just ask.

Nicole has a great blog. She shares incredible recipes on it all the time. If you are a foodie, you'll absolutely love her blog. My favorite post of hers is the Lemon Cookie recipe. I've made them twice now and they are totally awesome. Below is my photo of how my cookies turned out with her recipe:

my food photos aren't as good as Nicole's, but I think they still look yummy

A little routine . . . a little rest

Sometimes a little routine in your schedule can be a good thing.

We lead such busy lives that having a few dependable routines in your schedule can allow you to take a breather. Our Lord knew this when he set aside the Sabbath as a day of rest. Old Testament Law required that no cooking be done on the Sabbath. I must admit that we rarely ever have those old fashioned Sunday dinners at our house. I tend to not cook much on weekends. That's a little bit of Old Testament law that I continue to embrace.

After church on Sunday we often run an errand or two while we are out and about together and then find a restaurant when lunch time comes around. Sometimes this is time spent with good friends from church who we meet at a restaurant. In the afternoons we often watch a movie or do something around the house. We catch up with family on the phone. I frequently use this time to change and launder bedding since the machine does the work and I just have to oversee the process. It seems to take so much time when I do it during the week, but it's not a problem on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

And in the evenings we have started a new routine. I make a pot of hot tea to drink and a platter of various cold foods we happen to have in the refrigerator and pantry. We usually have cheese and crackers with some raw vegetables or I slice up some fresh fruit along with nuts, olives, salami or whatever else we happen to have. We enjoy this easy meal on the coffee table in the living room. It's our little family party that only takes a few minutes to prepare and even less time to clean up.

I have friends who enjoy Friday night pizza and game night every week or meatloaf Mondays before soccer practice. Some other friends take advantage of "kids eat free" night at a favorite restaurant or have "popcorn and smoothie" nights while watching movies. I think what matters is that this is special time set aside for the family that is also routine enough that it just happens.

A little routine . . . a little rest.

What I've been up to this week

Every few months I decide it's time for a change on my website. I don't know much of anything about html codes or website design, but I learn as I go. This time I was inspired to do a few things to decrease the load time of my pages to make navigating my site more pleasant for my customers. Friends from both my Homefront Team and My CAST Team on Etsy helped me with the changes.

You will now find things like anchor links to link you to content further down on the same page, that you can read my latest blog post right from my website and that pages load a little faster. Changes are on-going, but if you haven't been by in a while, now is a good time to visit.
